Company Details
DLUK is the abbreviated trading name for Datalite UK Ltd a United Kingdom
company registered at Companies House. Other trading names include 'Dayborn', ’Frames
Online', & 'DL Photography'. This Privacy Policy applies to all business with
Datalite UK Ltd, including under its trading name or branding.
Our Commitment To Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we
provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices
you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this
notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point
where personally identifiable information may be requested.
The Information We Collect:
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on this
website. On some pages, you can order products, make requests, and register to
receive materials. The types of personal information collected at these pages

On some pages, you can submit information about other people. For example, if
you order a gift online and want it sent directly to the recipient, you will

The Information We DON’T Collect:
We do not collect Credit/Debit Card Information online. However this
information may be posted using our shopping cart checkout where you will be
directed to a secure server run by a reputable company such as Paypal or Secure
Trading.
For offline orders, such as via telephone or correspondence, secure records will
be kept to fully meet and exceed the security requirements of the credit card
provider and Paypal. Generally records of Credit Card details are securely
destroyed at first opportunity by shredding.
EU Cookies Directive
The EU have decided to impose directives on member states regarding use of Cookies via their ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2009/136/EC). Datalite UK Ltd has enquired directly with the EU Commission to clarify their policy regarding Cookie's and Google Analytics, also to query why their own websites appear to disregard the own directive. Their reply whilst pointing this company to various regulations and organisations provided no useful clarification.
DLUK's use of cookies is only in two areas: namely through its shopping cart and use of Google Analytics. As the shopping cart is 'strictly necessary for the functionality of the website and where that action is explicitly requested by the user' this is permitted within the ePrivacy Directive. Customers should be aware that the company also uses Google Analytics. Under International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) UK's Cooke Guide Google Analytics is classified as a Category 2 Performance Cookie. This is permitted without an 'opt in' as long as covered by 'Terms of Conditions' and hence 'Privacy Policy'.
In these recession times, DLUK considers this EU directive as disproportionate, inappropriate, and with potential to adversely effect Europe website's competitiveness in a global market. Europe and in particular Eurozone countries have enough problems without the EU adding further layers of bureaucracy, adversely affecting customers and website owners alike. The company conversely welcomes the pragmatic approach provided by the United Kingdom's International Chamber of Commerce to limit potential damage, and this company has aimed to be fully compliant with its guidance on use of cookies.
Visitors should be aware that all popular browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Google Chrome contain options to switch off cookies.
EU VAT REGULATIONS WEF January 2015 - Digital Products
The European Union have brought in complex new regulations regarding supply of
digital products to EU Countries. Part of these regulations involve a
requirement to verify and collecting customer's location and other personal
data, and retaining these for 10 years. As a business we consider this an
unreasonable and abuse of customer's personal data, and therefore with regret
and solely due to these EU regulations, withdrawn our few digital products for
sale. These regulations will therefore not affect our customers, other than the
regrettable fact that this bureaucracy has made the selling of digital products
legally unviable.
The Way We Use Information:
We use the information you provide about yourself when placing an order
only to complete that order. We do not share this information with outside
parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order.

We offer personalised gift products by which you can personalise a product you
order for another person. Information you provide to us to create a gift-card is
only used for that purpose, and it is only disclosed to the person receiving the
gift.
We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are
not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.
On checking out you can register to be added to our eMail Mailing List if you
would like to receive further information such as periodic newsletters, and
updates on our new products and services. Information you submit on our website
will not be used for this purpose unless you select this option. If you do opt
to be placed on our eMail Mailing List you will only receive details and genuine
special offers from DLUK sparingly on a periodic basis.
Under absolutely no circumstances will your E-Mail address or any other personal
details be passed onto third parties without your specific permission for
marketing purposes. DLUK is a responsible business and detests the illegal
practice of spam, in common with the view of most customers.
We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website
and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X
number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number of
men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we would not
disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.
A number of our websites contain unprompted testimonials from satisfied
customers. Our policy is to ask permission first on receipt of a suitable
testimonial, and will only be identified by a customer’s Christian first name or
initials and broad geographical location (i.e. City and Country). Testimonials
are posted exactly as received, with only obvious grammatical/punctuation errors
corrected.
Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided
to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also
providing you an opportunity to opt-out, or otherwise prohibit such unrelated
uses.
Our Commitment To Data Security
To prevent unauthorised access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the
correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical,
electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we
collect both online and offline.
Our Commitment To Children's Privacy:
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For
that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those
we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to
attract anyone under 13.
How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information?
You can access all your personally identifiable information that we
collect online and maintain by writing to us or sending an E-Mail, there may be
a £10 administrative fee payable.
You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by
sending us a request that credibly shows error. To protect your privacy and
security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before
granting access or making corrections.
United Kingdom Data Protection Act 2003
Personal data whether digital or
manual records is stored and protected to fully comply with the latest United
Kingdom Data Protection Act. This act also gives individuals rights to make a
'Subject Access Request' for data held on them. This may be applied for by
submitting a written or e-mailed request, together with an administrative fee
for £10. Under the terms of the latest UK Data Protection Act, Subject Access
Requests are to be processed where possible within 40 days.
EU General Data Protection Policy (GDPR) WEF 25th May 2018
The European Union have added more bureaucracy in the form of GDPR, despite the United Kingdom in the process of leaving the European Union organisation; this will be implemented in the UK with effect from 25th May 2018. Notwithstanding that much of this red-tape will be unworkable, and a predicted adverse affect on web experiences, without clear guidelines of practical implementation. Datalite UK Ltd has reviewed their processes of data protection procedures to ensure compliance in accordance with GDPR.
Security was already a Datalite UK Ltd priority, customer and supplier data were never passed on to third parties as policy, and data will be continued to be protected using highest levels of pragmatic security. Changes already introduced earlier in 2018 ensure that all current mailing lists are on an 'opt-in' basis, and customers are not communicated whether by correspondence, telephone, or eMail beyond legitimate business interest (i.e. to query or provide information on an existing order).
GDPR also gives further rights to subject access requests, and the ‘right to be forgotten’. Subject access requests (SAR) will where possible be achieved within 30 days, and the fee for the time spent on SAR discontinues under GDPR. Right to be forgotten GDPR requests will be complied with as reasonably possible, recognising that in some instances data is legally required to be retained (i.e. United Kingdom’s HMRC legislation requires tax supporting documents to be kept for at least seven years).
The United Kingdom has voted to leave the European Union, if anything changes in the future this will be reflected in this Privacy Policy.
